Here’s a little more info about the coffee we are currently offering for Beans For Hope. If you have no idea where your coffee is coming from this should be pretty informative.
BFH believes in establishing a relationship between our friends and our farmers, we inform everyone we speak to just how much labor and expertise goes into growing and processing coffee.
Our Friend Edwin Martinez, has allowed us access to a lot of some incredible coffee that we are proud to serve to our friends. His coffee has placed in the top ten of the 2007 Guatemalan Cup of Excellence, which is no easy accomplishment. Americans whether they know it or not are drinking lots of Guatemalan coffee as it is one if not the major importers of coffee to the United States. We are excited about this coffee and feel our roast has done it some justice.
We are proud to present Finca Hermosa! Here’s an excerpt from the Cup of Excellence web page regarding the farm:
Finca Vista Hermosa, Beautiful View, is a legacy of three generations of coffee lovers who have poured their hearts into the rich land of Huehuetenango, Guatemala. The United States purchases more specialty coffee from Guatemala than any other country in the world. Because it is situated in the highlands, Huehuetenango coffees are among the more coveted coffees of altitude from Guatemala. Our family plantation is located in Agua Dulce, Huehuetenango in northwest Guatemala. Finca Vista Hermosa is ecologically sound and healthy, a model for many shade grown and organic plantations.
